The May-pole is up,

Now give me the cup;
I'll drink to the garlands around it;
But first unto those
Whose hands did compose
The glory of flowers that crown'd it.

James Joyce, Winds of May

Welcome

The Depot is still in the development stage, but we are happy to be able to offer a number of regularly updated features. Our forecasts are ready daily by 7 o'clock each morning (for late day forecasts click on one of the above). There are no updates on Sundays or Hoildays. Our seasonal data, WeatherWords, and news links as needed. Hope you explore and find what interests you, and come back often and watch us grow.

Forecast Overview

A low pressure system will track from northern Virginia to just south of Cape Cod today. This system will bring some clouds to the area and perhaps some rain to southern Vermont late in the day through the early evening hours. Otherwise, weak high pressure builds into the region Saturday and Sunday bringing dry weather and seasonal temperatures. Looking a lot better than last weekend.

Lower Elevations

Today  partially sunny and dry north, cloudy with showers south ~ highs mid 50s to mid 60s.

Tonight  partially cloudy and dry north, cloudy with a few lingering showers south ~ lows in the upper 30s to low 40s.

Saturday  partially sunny and dry statewide~ highs upper 50s to mid 60s.

Higher Elevations

This forecast will return in June, after the last of the snow has melted and the mountains have dried out.

Extended Forecast

The most significant feature of the extend forecast continues to be a storm system expected off the Atlantic coast late in the weekend into early next week. It could be just close enough to bring some light/moderate rain to the state late Sunday night into Tuesday especially southern sections, Being on the north/cold side of this storm, there is the possibility of a little accumulating snow in the northern mountains (Jay Peak a great example). As of Friday morning this does not look to be a big deal.
