"Mosquito is out,
it's the end of the day;
she's humming and hunting
her evening away.
Who knows why such hunger
arrives on such wings?
I guess
it's just the nature of things."

Forecast Overview
|
Weak high pressure will continue to dominate the weather through much of the day. A cold front associated with an upper level trough of low pressure will move into Vermont later this afternoon and enhance the potential for showers and thunderstorms, especially overnight. The potential for a few more showers and thunderstorms will continue into Sunday.

Lower Elevations
Today partially sunny with the slight possibility of a late afternoon shower/thunderstorm ~ highs in the low to mid 80s.
Tonight mostly cloudy with the likelihood of thundershowers/storms ~ lows in the 60s.
Sunday partially sunny with scattered showers~ highs upper 70s to low 80s.

Environmont
Any showers that do form this weekend will have little effect on river levels due to their widely scattered nature and the fact that the dry weather on Friday allowed waterways to recede some. However, river flows will remain very high. River recreation /swimming...canoeing...kayaking will be a hazardous proposition through the weekend.

Extended Forecast
Weak high pressure will build in on Tuesday for a nice dry day until late in the afternoon. Chances for precipitation will increase late afternoon and overnight. Low pressure
approaches from the Great Lakes on Wednesday bringing another round of rain showers to the state. This low will be slow to move out as it gets blocked by upper level low over eastern Canada. Therefore there will be the chance for showers through the end of next week as this low spins off the coast of New England and moisture wraps around this system.
